Funding Assistance for Emergency Care and Veterinary Research

At Oakland Veterinary Referral Services, we know that the cost of medical care can be too much for some local families, which is why we offer The Emergency Animal Relief (TEAR) Foundation to provide some financial respite for clients who qualify.

The support staff and management of OVRS started the TEAR Foundation in 2006 to be used in conjunction with OVRS emergency care. The TEAR Foundation is a 501(c)(3) that provides funding for emergency care to those pet families and stray animals in need. The main objectives of this foundation are:

  • to offer charitable funding toward emergency care for stray animals that good samaritans bring to us.
  • to assist qualified pet families with emergency grants to ease the cost of after-hours emergency care at OVRS.
  • to provide funding for research that will ensure the continued advancement of veterinary medicine.
  • to offer the community education about veterinary medicine that could save the lives of more animals in Southeastern Michigan.

Please contact us to learn more about the TEAR Foundation and to find out if you qualify for financial aid.

At OVRS, we believe that it is our duty to give charitably and to get involved with our community and we could not do that without your help. With your assistance, the TEAR Foundation can continue to ease the financial burden of veterinary care for families in need. We love working with our community to help ensure that we can treat as many sick or injured animals as possible.

You can support the TEAR Foundation by donating. You can also contact us to learn about available volunteer opportunities.
